Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) recently announced the award of a project involving the supply, installation, monitoring, and maintenance of Electric Submersible Pump (ESP) systems. The total value of the project is 679.4 million Kuwaiti Dinars (approximately 2.21 billion USD). The project consists of seven contract packages, and KOC received all bid documents for these packages by July 2025. Currently, KOC is moving forward with the contract signing process, which will become official once all parties meet the contract requirements.

Contract Details and Awardees
The project’s core contracts were awarded to four international companies, split into two main groups. Group A consists of three key contracts focusing on high-end technical services, while Group B emphasizes the international competitiveness of Chinese equipment manufacturers.
Group A-1 Contract (2.34 million Kuwaiti Dinars): Awarded to Alkhorayef Petroleum Company from Saudi Arabia, the only ESP manufacturer in the Gulf region. Alkhorayef specializes in oil and gas production optimization, with operations in 13 countries across the GCC, Africa, and Latin America. The company is backed by a 25% stake from the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF), reinforcing its position in the artificial lift equipment and technical services sectors. This win further strengthens Alkhorayef’s presence in the Middle Eastern market.
Group A-2 Contract (2.0049 million Kuwaiti Dinars): Awarded to Halliburton, the world’s second-largest oilfield services company. Founded in 1919, Halliburton operates in over 100 countries, offering services in artificial lift systems, hydraulic fracturing, and more. Their team in the Eastern region is focused on addressing local reservoir challenges and will use digital completion solutions to support this project.
Group A also includes additional contracts for high-end technical services to meet the growing demand for advanced technology in oilfield projects.
Group B Contracts: These contracts are focused on the international competitiveness of Chinese equipment manufacturers. While the details are still being finalized, the contracts will involve various equipment and systems essential to the project’s success.
While the project is centered around ESP systems, Tubeplus products, especially those in the oil pipeline sector, will play a crucial role in the success of this large-scale operation. Tubeplus offers a range of high-quality pipeline products designed to withstand the harsh conditions found in oil and gas fields. Their pipes, fittings, and related components ensure reliable and efficient transportation of oil and gas.
By combining global expertise and advanced technology, along with reliable products from Tubeplus, KOC is poised to enhance its production capabilities, making this project a significant milestone in the Middle Eastern oil sector.
