1.4306 is essentially a higher-alloyed version of 1.4307, featuring slightly higher chromium and significantly increased nickel content, which enhances its corrosion resistance compared to 1.4307. However, despite its improved properties, 1.4306 is experiencing declining demand in the profiles market. This may be attributed to the fact that most profiles require further machining, and no NIRO-CUT® version currently exists. As a result, when enhanced corrosion resistance is needed, customers typically opt for either 1.4307 or 1.4404.

Stainless steel grades 1.4301 (304) and 1.4307 (304L) are among the most widely used stainless steels, valued for their versatility and mechanical properties. Grade 304 stainless steel is an industry-standard material, known for its excellent corrosion resistance and workability. With a composition of 18% chromium and 8% nickel, it is still commonly referred to as 18/8 stainless steel, making it highly suitable for applications in chemical processing, petroleum, food industry, and other demanding environments.
